Detroit, MI (November 29, 2018) – In honor of World AIDS Day, Team Wellness Center is taking steps to create awareness and increase understanding about HIV and AIDS.
The agency will partner with the Wayne County Health Department to host its first World AIDS Day event on Monday, December 3rd from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Team’s Primary Care Clinic located at 3646 Mt. Elliott St. Detroit, MI 48207.
The event will feature free HIV and STD presentations, counseling, condom distribution, and raffle prizes. Free HIV testing will also be provided with results available on site.
Team Wellness Center’s staff will honor World Aids Day by wearing red in support of people living with HIV. Staff can also wear jeans to work in exchange for contributing to a fundraiser for the National AIDS Trust.
World AIDS Day was founded in 1988 and is held on December 1st of each year. It is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
