Detroit, MI (April 23, 2020) – Team Wellness Center (Team) continues to provide essential mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. To improve access to care, the agency offers telehealth services to Metro Detroiters with mental health and co-occurring substance abuse issues.
“Many people are experiencing increased anxiety, stress, depression, and other mental health issues during this pandemic,” said Pamela Jastrabek, President & COO of Team Wellness Center. “They need help, but right now they just can’t get to us.”
The “Stay-at-Home” order and concerns about social distancing have caused many people to cancel or miss healthcare appointments. For people with mental illness this also means that they are not getting vital medications needed to help manage their condition.
Team’s two Detroit clinics and their Southgate location remain open during the pandemic. However, the agency has added a full array of telehealth services. Mental health screening, therapy, psychiatry, medication reviews and more are available via telephone consultation and in privacy-protected online video sessions.
Team began offering telehealth services to respond to the needs of clients who lack transportation or just don not want to leave home during the COVID-19 crisis. Since March 15th, the agency has provided more than 10,000 telehealth services.
