Detroit, MI (January 6, 2022) – Team Wellness Center has opened its doors to the community as a public warming center for those seeking warmth from the frigid temperatures. The agency is also offering free COVID-19 testing at its Detroit clinics.
With the city currently experiencing below average temperatures and severe wind chills, Team Wellness Center wants to ensure that no one is left out in the cold. Visitors can watch television, socialize, or just relax while they warm up in a heated facility.
The warming centers and free COVID-19 testing are available at:
Team Eastern Market location at 2925 Russell St. from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.
Team East location at 6309 Mack Ave. open 24 hours.
Team Wellness Center has an overnight program which hosts homeless individuals every night. When the warming center at the Eastern Market location closes at 5 p.m., individuals can take a shuttle to the Team East location to stay warm for the evening.
