Warming Center Activated at Team Wellness Center

Detroit, MI (January 28, 2019) – Team Wellness Center is opening its doors to the community this week as a public warming center for those seeking warmth from the frigid temperatures. According to the National Weather Service, wind chills are expected to fall to around 15 to 20 degrees below zero during the week.

The Eastern Market location at 2925 Russell St. will be open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily.
The Team East location at 6309 Mack Ave. will be open 24 hours.

Visitors can warm up in a heated facility while enjoying hot coffee. They can also play games, watch television, socialize, or just relax while they wait out the cold.

Team Wellness Center has an overnight program which hosts more than 100 homeless individuals every night. When the warming center at the Eastern Market location closes for the evening, individuals can take a shuttle to the Team East location to stay overnight.
