Southgate, MI (May 23, 2023) – Team Wellness Center will host a community health fair on Wednesday, May 24th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event will take place at the agency’s Southgate clinic located at 14799 Dix Toledo Rd, Southgate, MI 48195.
The event will feature free blood pressure screenings; glucose screenings; HIV, A1C, and Hepatitis C testing; eye exams; and flu vaccines. COVID-19 testing, and vaccinations will also be available at no cost. Health education sessions will be held throughout the event and attendees can learn about different health topics while enjoying healthy foods.
“This will be the first of many events to promote primary care and behavioral health services in Southgate and the greater Downriver community.” said Michael Hunter, President of Team Wellness Center. “This is a part of our overall commitment to increase access to care for underserved areas in Wayne County.”
Attendees will learn about the primary care services available at Team Wellness Center. There will also be information provided on mental health programs, dental care, vision care, psychiatry, child/adolescent counseling, and substance abuse treatment.
Team is also seeking community partners who are willing to collect coats at their site or event. Businesses and community groups interested in participating can call 313-287-6705.
